MEEKA is a luxury sustainable brand from
London, specialising in robes & pyjamas. The
team came to me as they wanted to develop slippers, that were not only beautiful & comfortable but sustainable as well.
Sustainability & comfort were the only real criteria I got from the team at MEEKA, otherwise they gave me a lot of creative freedom. I started off with a moodboard. I really wanted this collection to be inspired by the already existing collection of robes & pyjamas, as well as the general feel & DNA of the brand so that it could easily match future collections & not be limited to a certain season or trend. It's all about creating timeless quality pieces that can be worn over & over again. So I definitely knew that I wanted to stick with neutral & nature tones as well as vegan, nature & organic materials.
Design Phase
First rough sketches & the CAD renders
Refining & finalising designs, materials & artwork so that spec sheets could be made.
Sampling Phase
We tested a few different constructions as well as trims until we were happy with the final product.
